A word about the artwork
This painting underwent numerous transformations before taking its current form. The artist spent nearly five years completing it. In her studio, she sometimes experiences bursts of creative inspiration, but most of the time, she lets ideas mature. For this piece, she had a background she particularly liked; so she waited… attempted a few sketches, but covered them over each time. Until one day, the obvious choice became clear. The idea had taken root: she would create a face blending into the background colors, with that hazy effect achieved through the use of spray paint.
