Hues of Heart is the first piece of the HOH series, created as a collaboration with French artist Manyoly. A luminous evocation of the complexity of the emotions that make us up, a stylized heart that comes alive and vibrates to the rhythm of our feelings.

This luminous sculpture seeks to make tangible through colors and light the emotional palette that crosses us and transports us at every moment. Its undulating movements and constantly evolving variations are a reference to the changing and multiple inner states that inhabit us, confronted with the perpetual and unbridled stimulation of our daily lives.

Early psychological studies classified six human emotions: happiness, sadness, anger, surprise, fear, and disgust. But recent studies, led by Alan S. Cowen and Dacher Keltner of the University of California, suggest that the range of human emotions is much wider and describe 27 varieties of emotional experiences, including adoration, amusement , anxiety, boredom, confusion, excitement, longing, satisfaction or sexual desire. Instead of well-defined boxes, they also found that the many categories of emotions are linked by gradients, unlike discrete theories.

Based on this principle, human emotions can be represented as a color wheel, where the subtle variations between two emotional states are made up of color gradients. The boundaries between emotions are blurred and the definition of an emotional state floats freely in a sea of intertwined emotional experiences.
