There are several interesting aspects to this painting. The metal background was rusted by the artist through several bath sessions with cardboard to leave an imprint, with water and salt. The portrait is made of paint and collage and the whole is varnished with 4 layers of resin. The painting has a shiny appearance thanks to the resin. The latter gives a shine to the work.
